Terms of Service
Effective September 16, 2026 · Version 2026-09-16
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Barrault Technologies Inc. ("AllSquare", "we", "us") governing your use of the AllSquare mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, tapping to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
AllSquare helps you split shared expenses with other people and keep personal finance tools such as budgets, debts, savings goals, recurring bills, net worth, and a stock tracker. It also includes an AI "money coach" that answers questions you ask, and social features that let you add friends.
Not financial advice. The Service, including the AI coach, any guidance, projections, "safe to spend" figures, and stock information, is provided for informational and organizational purposes only. It is not professional financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy or sell any security. You are responsible for your own financial decisions and should consult a qualified professional where appropriate. See the separate Disclaimer.
Balances are a record, not a payment service. AllSquare records who owes what and helps you track settlements. It does not move money, hold funds, or act as a money transmitter. Actual payments between you and other members happen outside the Service, and you are responsible for them.
Market data. Stock quotes and valuations come from a third-party provider, may be delayed or inaccurate, and are provided "as is" without warranty. Do not rely on them for trading decisions.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the Service. You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your credentials and device secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@allsquare.site if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Your content and profile
You retain your rights in the content you add (for example, expense descriptions, receipt images, your username, and your profile photo). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service, including sharing group content with the other members of your groups, and showing your name, username, and profile photo to your friends and to people who send you or receive from you a friend request, as the Service is designed to do. You are responsible for the content you add and for having the right to share it.
4. Acceptable use and community rules
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe others' rights when using the Service;
- upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape, or disrupt the Service;
- reverse engineer or misuse the Service except as permitted by law;
- harass, threaten, impersonate, or defraud other people;
- choose a username or upload a profile photo, receipt, or description that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, or that impersonates another person or brand;
- add people to groups or send friend requests to harass or spam them.
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. You can manage your own exposure by removing friends, declining or cancelling requests, and leaving groups. If you encounter content or behavior that violates these rules, report it to support@allsquare.site. We may review reports, remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and we aim to act on valid reports within 24 hours.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
AllSquare offers paid features, including AllSquare Pro (an auto-renewing subscription) and Trip Pass (a per-group unlock). Purchases are sold and processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, not by us, and are subject to their terms. A full summary is in the Refund Policy.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; see the Refund Policy.
- Changes. We may change features or prices for future periods; changes do not affect a period you have already paid for.
Trip Pass unlocks a single group for its members; a refund or revocation of the underlying purchase removes the unlock.
6. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including Apple and Google (sign-in, payments, notifications), Anthropic (the AI coach), Railway (hosting), and market data and currency-rate providers. Your use of those features may be subject to the third party's terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.
7. Availability and changes to the Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. We may also update these Terms. Each version of these Terms carries a version identifier. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and version and ask you to review and accept the updated Terms in the app. We record the version you accepted and when. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, or tapping to accept, means you accept the updated Terms.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Because balances are shared, your entries in shared groups may be retained in anonymized form after deletion so other members' records remain correct, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation, projection, or piece of market data is accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Barrault Technologies Inc. and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Barrault Technologies Inc. from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Alberta, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.
13. Apple App Store terms
If you download the app from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Your license to use the app is the non-transferable license to use it on Apple devices as described in Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, except where these Terms are more restrictive.
